Conner Bailey

Conner Bailey is one of the main protagonists in the Land of Stories series, which was written by actor, singer, and author Chris Colfer, and is turning twelve when first mentioned in Book 1: The Wishing Spell. He and his twin sister Alex are born to John (son of the Fairy Godmother and brother of Lloyd Bailey "Masked Man") and Charlotte Bailey, but John Bailey tragically passes away about a year prior to the when the book begins in a fatal car accident. When the first chapter takes place, Alex and Conner are in their sixth grade class, which is taught by Mrs. Peters, a strict woman who strongly believes in books, especially fairytales. As the chapter progresses, we can see that Alex is the head student of the class (she is evidently eager) and that Conner is less academically accomplished. He is found to be taking a nap in the middle of class, which is something that has happened before. As the first book goes on, it is very clear that Conner is carefree and lazier and that Alex is anxious and responsible. But as the series continues, Conner begins to get smarter and shows a knack for writing fantasies, which is obvious especially in the beginning of Book 2: The Enchantress Returns when Mrs. Peters calls him to her office and tells him that she thinks he is a very good writer. He is a friendly and overall handsome kid, but he can be very sarcastic at times, especially when talking to Red Riding Hood "Red," who, along with Goldilocks, Jack (Jack and the Beanstalk), Froggy, and others, is one of his good friends from the Fairytale World. He is definitely more of a troublemaker than Alex is, and he often hides his feelings and emotions. He is single throughout most of the series, but he does have a serious crush on Breanne "Bree" Campbell, who is one of his classmates. She always wears a purple beanie, has an earbud in one ear, and has blond hair with streaks of pink and blue. He becomes a world-renowned author to many fantasy series for children, including Fairytaletopia, Galaxy Queen, The Adventures of Blimp Boy, and Starboardia. In the prologue of Book 6: Worlds Collide, he reveals that he has three children. His eldest is Elizabeth, and she is married to a man called Ben. Together, they have a daughter named Charlotte "Charlie." His second child and only son is Matthew, and he is married to a man named Henry. He and Henry are fathers to two sons, Ayden and Grayson. His youngest child is Carrie, and she is married to a man named Scott. Together, they have Brighton, Sammy, and Levi.
