Conner Coffin (born July 13, 1993) is an retired American professional surfer who has competed on the World Surf League Men's World Tour since 2016.[1]

Surfing career

Coffin started on the professional circuit in the 2008 Qualifying Series. In 2015, he finished the QS season in 9th place on the Ranking and qualified for the Championship Tour for the first time in his career.[2] In 2016, his rookie year, Coffin reached his first CT final, the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal, losing to John John Florence.[3] He finished the season in 17th place.

Coffin continued competing on the CT year after year, until the 2021 season when he achieved his best result of his career. In a shortened season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Coffin reached the final of the Rip Curl Narrabeen Classic, losing to Gabriel Medina,[4] as well as other good results that saw him finish the season in 4th place, qualifying for the first WSL Finals in history.[5] In the Finals, Coffin beat Morgan Cibilic in match 1, advancing to match 2, where he was beaten by Filipe Toledo, ending the best season of his career.[6]

The following season, in 2022, Coffin started the year badly and didn’t qualify for the mid-season cut-off for the 2023 season. Coffin announced his retirement from competitive surfing at the US Open of Surfing in August 2023.[7][8]
