Connor Murray (born November 8, 2002) is an American actor and performer currently residing in Andover, Massachusetts. He is best known for his appearance as a dancer in the music video for "Celebration" by Teresa Marie ft. Cristian Cartier, and for portraying Kai Rogers in the short film Addicted. He is also a musician, and a member of several ensembles and choirs, including Andover Vocal Music.
Murray began his film career in early 2018, when he was cast as Kai Rogers in Addicted, a short film directed by Cassandra E. Ferreira, who was, at the time, a classmate at Andover High School in Massachusetts. The film, which premiered at the J. Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts, was released publicly in October, 2018. Another Andover-produced short, Cameron, in which Murray played the lead (Cameron), was released earlier that year. He has since taken on acting professionally, becoming one of the most popular teenage actors in New England. Since his career is so young, the majority of his projects are not yet available to the public. However, several are currently making rounds in festival circuits. Influence, directed by YouTube singing personality Indy Dang, has been shown at the Flickers Rhode Island Film Festival and San Jose Short Film Festival. He was a dancer in the music video for Teresa Marie's "Celebration", featuring Cristian Cartier. The video has over 91,000 views.
In the fall of 2018, Murray played Olin Britt in The Music Man. The Andover High School show received great reviews and several nominations from the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild, winning Best Acting Ensemble. This was Murray's first official acting award. In November, 2019, he played Elle's Dad, the Judge, and a few ensemble roles for Andover High School's production of Legally Blonde.
Aside from acting, Murray is an experienced musician. He is the bass-baritone vocal captain at Andover Vocal Music, the umbrella organization encompassing all Andover High School choirs, of which he is a member of three: From Start to Finish (mixed-gender show choir), Back to BASSics (all-male show choir), and the Honors Concert Choir. He has performed with the groups at various events and competitions around the country, from New York City to Nashville. He has also been a part of several other prominent choirs, such as the Northeast Massachusetts Senior Districts Choir in early 2019, and currently, the Andover High School chapter of Tri-M Music Honor Society. He sings on the worship team at Free Christian Church in Andover, where he frequently attends service.
He takes voice lessons with Sandra Bedrosian, a prominent Massachusetts singer.
Murray can also play multiple instruments, including piano and guitar. He took piano lessons from 2008 to 2016.
He has been known to occasionally perform alone at small music events and festivals, and has covered several popular songs. He posted a cover of Your Song, by Elton John, to his Instagram page in September, 2019, where he was both singing and playing piano.
Murray is currently a member of the Andover Rugby Union, the town's high school rugby team. His freshman year, he ran on the Andover High School cross country team.
He has a first degree black belt in Taekwondo from Master Yang's Martial Arts Center in Latham, New York. He has attended the academy since 2010, and still takes classes when visiting the Albany area. He was a member of the world renowned leadership/demo team from 2015 until he moved to Andover in 2016.
He took swimming lessons for seven years.
Murray has attended Seano's Circus Theatricks Camp at Hudson Valley Community College every summer since he was 7. His specialty is unicycle, but he is also trained in juggling, stilts, and the rola bola balancing board. 2019 was his first year as a counselor.
He is an advocate for gun reform, and is a founding member of the youth organization, Freedom for Fear, which helped to plan the Boston March for Our Lives protest in March, 2018. His oldest Instagram post is of a meeting with Senator Barbara L'Italian at the Massachusetts State House during the protest.
