Plot[edit]

John Constantine awakens in the House of Mystery after convincing The Flash to create a second Flashpoint using his magic to make sure he would pay for his consequences.[N 1] He enters a room with his friends and an alive Zatanna celebrating his 50th birthday party. Zatanna introduces Constantine to their apparent children Jack and Della. Suddenly, everyone in the room coughs up blood and dies. However, they reawaken as demons who eat Constantine. Constantine begins to experience a loop that keeps leading to his death from demons.

On the third loop, Constantine uses the stares and finds a room which he had to use magic to break out. He uses satantic rituals to find out how he got into the house. His past self had bargained with the Spectre to spend an eternity in the house to spare his life despite taunting Spectre. Centuries after being in the house, the demon Negal and later two other demons appear to kill Constantine, who has revealed to have sold his soul three times. As the demons are distracted, Constantine breaks free and uses a spell to chain the demons fueled by their rage. Constantine reveals to the demons he had lured them to his location by having Spectre tell them it and uses their portal to escape to the world between worlds.

After escaping, he is confronted by Spectre who explains he used his friends and family so that he can could spend eternity with them as he believed to not been able to have happiness despite everyone who had died for him. Constantine accepts his fate but Spectre informs him that the universe is about to destroy everything in it's path because of his selfish actions and is consumed by it.
