History
CookOut is founded in 2020 by Donald Cheung, who was student of Rotman Commerce in the University of Toronto. Shortly after that, the three other founding member, Edison Leung, Ethan Zajaczkowshi and Marco So joined in August 2020.
The start-up had received high recognition, that it gained a second place in Launch Your Big Idea, the biggest start-up pitch competition in June 2020.
Operation
There are two main features for the app. The first feature is that chefs can livestream what they’re cooking directly on users' phone, and home chefs can become celebrities through CookOut.
The second feature, customers can order signature dish from their favorite home chefs through the live-streaming session, or, the chef's personal profile, just like an Instagram page.
All together, CookOut is a revolutionary homemade food delivery platform that connects people through the live-streaming and authentic homemade food, in a way that is exciting and innovative.
