Cooper Matthews is a 17-year-old Australian musician, producer and actor based in Brisbane, Queensland.[1] He made his professional debut at age 12 in the touring production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, playing Charlie Bucket in a rotating cast across multiple seasons; the production had seasons at QPAC in Brisbane and Crown Theatre in Perth.[2][3][4][5] He later released pop/rock singles on streaming platforms and began screen work including the television series Young Rock and the film Anaconda.[6][1][7][8]

Stage
Matthews made his professional debut as Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.[2][3] He was originally cast for the scheduled QPAC 2020 season that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3] The Brisbane run was scheduled from 2 to 19 September 2021,[3] while the Perth season was scheduled from 3 November 2021, continuing to 28 November 2021.[15][4]
