The Copa Ciudad de Valparaíso was an international football friendly tournament that took place in the year 2000 in the Chilean city of Valparaíso , with the presence of the Australia, Bulgaria, Chile and Slovakia. The Chilean national football team was the winner of the Copa Ciudad de Valparaíso.
First Edition[edit]
The year 2000 was the first and only edition of the Copa Ciudad de Valparaíso. All the matches were played at the Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander of Valparaíso, with the Chilean national football team being champion.
All the matches were broadcast live on the open television channel Chilevisión and La Red, with stories by Claudio Palma, comments by Eugenio Cornejo and on-field work by Fernando Galmes and Manuel de Tezanos Pinto.
Modality[edit]
The tournament was played in a single round of three dates, 2 games in 1 day, under the system of a round robin, with the team that accumulated the most points in the standings becoming champion.
