Cornish dance

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Cornish dancing at the Godolphin Fete.

Cornish dance (Donsyow Kernewek) is a rich, traditional folk dance culture from Cornwall, deeply connected to its industrial and social history. It features lively, community-focused forms including 'Scoot' (step) dancing, 'Furry' (processional) dances, and social dances for Troyls (céilidhs), often featuring unique, snake-like, and spiral patterns, like the Serpent or Snail Creep.

Traditional instruments, often accompanying these dances, include the fiddle, banjo, and accordion. The dances are now a popular feature at community events and festivals across Cornwall.
