The Mediterranean boar (Sus scrofa meridionalis) also known as the Corsican boar, Sardinian boar or variations such as the Corsico-Sardinian wild pig is a subspecies of wild boar native to Andalusia, Corsica, Sardinia. The latter two populations very likely derive from introduced or feral individuals.[1]
Description[edit]
The subspecies is significantly smaller than the nominate S. s. scrofa. The fur is dull olive-fawn, underwool is sparse, and individuals mostly lack a mane.[1]
