Cory Daniel Long (born September 12, 1991), also known as Cory Thach and professionally as Lil Cory, and in Cherokee as ᏩᏓᏚᎦ ᎦᏅᎯᏓ (Wadaduga Ganvhida), is a Native American actor and recording artist from the Echota Cherokee Tribe. He is a member of the National Congress of American Indians and the Native American Church. Long is a descendant of Captain Blackbeard (Edward Teach) and Cherokee Chief Attakullakulla.[1][2][3]
Career
In 2012 Long released a single featuring artist Young Jeezy. The song was published by Island Def Jam.[4]
He was discovered by Multi-Platinum Grammy Award-Winning record producer Jared Lee Gosselin in 2019.[5][6] [7]
Throughout his career, Edwards—professionally known as Lil Cory—has collaborated with several well-known recording artists, including Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Boosie, Rick Ross, Bubba Sparxxx, Bezz Believe, Juicy J, Project Pat, and others. In 2023, he released the album Wayy 2 Hott, which further expanded his audience and cemented his presence in the hip-hop scene.[8]
Several editorials, including the Daily Star and Daily Express, published articles about him following statements he made online claiming to be a god. He is also regularly featured on All Night Nippon radio in Japan.[9][10]
From 2014-2018 Long appeared on television in various background roles. In 2020 he landed a guest appearance on Star Trek: Picard as Xborg.[11][12]

Family Life
Cory Daniel Long is the son of Linda Long, a retail worker and Winfred Wilson Bynum, a former NFL football player (NY Giants), on September 12, 1991 in Columbus, Georgia. He is also a descendant of Edward Teach (Blackbeard), through his wife Mary Sophia Ormond.
Long is Cherokee. He is the eighth great grandchild of Amatoya Moytoy of Tellico “Emperor of Cherokee” and belongs to the Anigilohi, Deer Clan. He is also the leader of the Anikutani, a Native American Esoteric Society founded by the speculative principles of the mound builders in early Cherokee history.
In 2018 he revived Republic of Pirates Inc., a fraternal order for the descendants of Pirates and Privateers.
His maternal 8th great grandparents were Attakullakulla Cherokee name (ᎤᏍᏗ ᏗᏁᏍᎨᏍᎩ) and Nionne Ollie Cherokee name (ᎪᎳᏅ).

In November, 2019 Edwards was arrested in Griffin, Georgia at Doc Holliday's Saloon for disorderly conduct.
