It is a Non-fiction book about the Indian Nuclear Weapon Tests which were conducted in Pokhran Valley. It gives a neutral summary of all the governmental, non-governmental and foreign entities which had their names entwined with the incident.
The writer Amitav Ghosh himself was to a large extend involved in the project and gives first hand account of many generals and government officials and the conversations he had with them.
