Court of Hearts (or Hartenhof in Dutch) will be a dark ride at Efteling amusement park in the Netherlands. It is scheduled to open in 2015 [2] and become the icon of the park. The ride has a budget of €42,5 million,[3] making it the park's most expensive ride to date.

The ride originally should have opened in 2012, but this has been postponed to 2015. Water show Aquanura became the attraction for the 60th anniversary that year. The first phase, a restaurant called Polles Keuken, opened 2012.[4] In 2013 the CEO of Efteling, Bart de Boer, left Efteling to introduce a time of consolidation after large investments during the previous years. The development of Court of Hearts seem to have been abandoned since then with no building activities so far.

After the new CEO, Fons Jurgens, was installed, he announced Court of Hearts was not cancelled, but pushed forward to somewhere in between 2016 or 2020. First, priorities shifted to a new dive coaster, to be opened in 2015.
The ride[edit]
Through a themed entrance area visitors will ride in a cart which will take them into the castle of the park mascot, Pardoes,[5] which is his fantasy world of Symbolica.[6]
