Courtney Lindsey (born 18 November 1998) is an American track and field athlete who competes as a sprinter.[1]
Early life
From Rock Island, Illinois, he attended Rock Island High School. He used to train at a boxing in the Quad Cities operated by his stepfather. Lindsey began his collegiate career at Iowa Central Community College. In July 2019, he signed a letter of intent to transfer to Texas Tech University.[2][3]
Career
In June 2023, competing for Texas Tech University, he ran a new personal best time of 10.02 in the heats of the NCAA Outdoor Championship in Austin, Texas. He then triumphed in the final, running a new personal best time of 9.89 seconds.[4] Although, his 4x100m relay team was disqualified at the same event,[5][6] he ran another new personal best of 19.86s to finish runner-up in the 200m race.[7]
Competing at the 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, in Eugene, Oregon, he reached the semi-finals of the 100m competition.[8] In the 200 metres, he beat Fred Kerley and Christian Coleman, amongst others, to finish in third place in the final in a new personal best time of 19.85 seconds.[9][10]
Competing in Monaco, he made his debut in a Diamond League event, finishing seventh in the 100 metres.[11]
