Covid Act Now is a volunteer-led web-based initiative to model COVID-19 data of the United States under different scenarios.[1][2] It gives state-by-state and county-by-county breakdowns of COVID-19 cases along with the projected change due to measures these areas are currently taking.
The model from Covid Act Now, also known as the US Interventions Model,[3] is used by officials to decide on policies like shelter-in-place orders.[2][4] The models on Covid Act Now have been criticised as overestimating the spread of the pandemic,[5] and the creators responded that it was better that the "models err on the side of overestimation, not underestimation".[2] The website of Covid Act Now is updated daily.[2]
