Craig Culver
Craig Culver is co-founder and board chair of Culver's Restaurants. Culver was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on June 15, 1950, to parents George and Ruth. Culver grew up in the small town of Sauk City, Wisconsin. He grew up around the restaurant industry, starting to help at the family resort at the age of eleven. Culver attended the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh where he graduated in 1973 with a degree in Biology. He did not plan to enter the food industry, but soon began working as a manager at a local McDonald's. This led him to wanting to open a restaurant of his own. Together with his parents, Craig and his wife Lea, opened the first Culver's ButterBurgers and Frozen Custard in Sauk City, Wisconsin in 1984. Culver's became a franchise in 1990 and has continued to grow ever since. Culver was CEO until 2015 when he retired. Today, Culver remains the face behind the brand and is often seen on commercials, advertisements, and in stores.
