Craig A. Fiegener (born June 22, 1971) is an American journalist and politician. He is a former television journalist in Southern California, most recently working for KNBC, as an Inland Empire General Assignment Reporter.[1] He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Fiegener has also dabbled in local politics, making unsuccessful bids for a city council seat in Riverside, California[2] and for California's 40th State Senate district[3]

Previously, Fiegener served as editor and publisher of a local news website called InstantRiverside.com.[4]

Fiegener worked for the CBS owned-and-operated Los Angeles television station KCBS-TV in 2002, as an Inland Empire Bureau Reporter, covering the Riverside-San Bernardino region. After leaving KCBS-TV in December 2006, he founded InstantRiverside.com.[5] He was also a contributing reporter to the national cable news operation of CBS News on Logo.[6]

Fiegener grew up in the Riverside community and began his broadcasting career when he was 14. He got his first break hosting a weekend radio show at KMAY. While a student at John W. North High School,[1] he worked weekends at KTSJ in Pomona. After graduation, he was the morning host and program director at KHSJ in Hemet. Fiegener also attended California Southern Law School in Riverside.[1]

In 1993, Fiegener became the first Inland Empire Bureau Reporter for Los Angeles radio station KFI. At the same time, he was taking an interest in television news. He handled reporting jobs at KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, and the Orange County Newschannel. In 1996, he moved to ABC's KFSN in Fresno, where he was received a local Emmy Award.[1][7] While in Fresno, he reported for the top-rated morning news, and started KFSN's consumer watch series, which he produced and reported until returning home to Southern California and KCBS-TV.

In 2000, he was awarded an Emmy for Best Investigative Reporting. It recognized his work on a story that exposed a rental housing scheme which cost more than 30 unsuspecting Fresno tenants thousands of dollars. In 2000 and 2002,[8] The Associated Press Television and Radio Association has recognized him in its "Reporter of the Year"[1] in the Best Consumer Reporting category.
