Craig Robert Ohlau—Born March 25, 1982, in Chester, Illinois, the setting for his first book—is an American author and sportsman. Ohlau is the award-winning author of The Sons of Chester: A Tale of Small Town Boys, Baseball, and Very Big Dreams[1][2] which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in General Nonfiction in 2019, named the 2019 Maxy Awards Runner-Up for "Nonfiction Book of the Year," [3] is a PenCraft Awards Winner for "Best Biographies of 2019," [4] and a da Vinci Finalist in the 2020 Eric Hoffer Book Awards. [5] Kings of the County League: One Summer, One Team, One Dynasty is his second publication. [6][7] He dedicated 18 years to the Mon-Clair Baseball League—the league immortalized in his second book—between 2001 and 2018. [8] The National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame inducted him into their prestigious club in 2019. [9] The county league followed, placing him in their Hall of Fame in 2021.
