CreditRiskMonitor.com, Inc. is an American information services firm that provides financial risk analysis and business intelligence services focused on the creditworthiness of public and private companies. The company’s products and services are used by credit, finance, treasury, supply chain, operations and other risk management professionals. It serves government agencies and organizations in industries including energy, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, construction, communications, and financial services.
History
The company legally originated from a Nevada corporation organized in February 1977, which was engaged in the development and sale of nutritional food products under the name New Generation Foods, Inc. Jerome S. Flum, a former hedge fund manager and lawyer who had served as the sole general partner of Flum Partners, LLLP became Chairman and CEO of New Generation Foods, Inc.
In September 1998, Flum Partners arranged for New Generation Foods, Inc. to acquire the CreditRisk Monitor credit information service from Market Guide Inc. The transaction included a private placement that raised between $3.0 to $3.25 million to finance the acquisition.[1] The company was subsequently renamed CreditRiskMonitor.com, Inc. in January 1999 and began operations in the financial risk analytics business.
Jerome S. Flum served as CEO and chairman from 1999 until May 2023. Michael Flum was appointed Chief Executive Officer and President in May 2023.
For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, CreditRiskMonitor reported operating revenues of $20.1 million, an increase of $314,000 compared to 2024. The company’s revenue model is based on annual subscriptions.[2]
In January 2026, the company completed its first SOC 2 Type I audit report for cybersecurity.[3]
Products and services
The company operates two subscription platforms, CreditRiskMonitor®[4] and SupplyChainMonitor™,[5] and also offers data integration services and a Trade Contributor Program.[6] The Trade Contributor Program collects $3 trillion in trade payment data annually from organizations worldwide.[2] The company provides services to nearly 40% of Fortune 1000 companies.[7]
CreditRiskMonitor also provides business coverage on private companies worldwide. Its PAYCE® Score estimates the probability of bankruptcy over the next 12 months on North American private companies. Its Confidential Financial Statement Solution provides automated processing of private company financial statements into reporting with bankruptcy scoring, peer analysis, and financial analytics.
Methodology
The company's primary credit risk model is the FRISK® Score, a bankruptcy risk score that estimates the probability of a public company filing for bankruptcy within 12 months. The score is based on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 represents the highest estimated bankruptcy risk and 10 the lowest.
According to the company, the model incorporates stock market data, financial statements, agency ratings and subscriber activity. The model is updated daily as new information becomes available in contrast to credit ratings or other scores available in commercial credit reporting that can update less frequently.[8]
The FRISK® Score is compared by the company in its white papers to the Altman Z-score, a bankruptcy prediction model introduced in 1968. The company states the FRISK® Score updates more frequently than the Z″-Score, which is based primarily on financial statement ratios.[9]
CreditRiskMonitor released its Financial Analyst Strength Test (FAST) Rating model in 2025, which assesses foreign private companies with limited financial data.[2]
