Criollo (rabbit)
The Criollo Rabbit is a small rabbit, weighing 3-4 pounds. It originates from Mexico and Central America. The breed has short and erect ears. It comes in many different patterns and colors, including black, white, gray, spotted, brown, tan, and blue.[1][2]
It is not by the American Rabbit Breeders Association or the British Rabbit Council.[3]
It was first bred in Mexico in 1940, as a mix of an American Fuzzy Lop and a Pigmy rabbit. It can adapt to many climates comfortably. It was brought to North and South America.[4][5][6] It performs the best in tropical climates. The rabbit must be kept in temperatures from 65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
