Cristian Marino (born 10 February 1982, in Milano, Lombardia) is an Italian chef and book author known for his work in Italian cuisine and his international career in the hospitality industry.[1] He has held executive chef positions at several luxury hotel brands, and has received recognition for his contributions to Italian gastronomy, such as the "Silver Plate" from the Accademia Italiana Della Cucina. His career spans multiple countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Early Life and Career[edit]

Marino was born in Milan, Italy, and grew up in Calabria. He attended the E. Maggia Institute of Hospitality Management in Stresa, Italy, where he trained in culinary arts and hotel management. He is an Italian chef with an international career spanning Europe[2], the Middle East, and Asia, having gained culinary experience in over ten countries, including Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Indonesia, UAE and the Maldives[3]. He has also traveled to more than thirty countries while working for Silversea Cruises, a six-star cruise ship company.[4][5][6][7]

Recognition[edit]

In 2024, Hotelier Maldives featured him as their "Chef of the Month", [8] citing his work in the region’s culinary industry.

In 2016, Cristian Marino was recognized by the Accademia Italiana della Cucina for his role at the Modigliani restaurant in Bucharest, located within the InterContinental Hotel, which received a score of 9 and was awarded the Silver Plate (Piatto d'Argento).[9][10][11]
