Cry In December is an Indonesian Metalcore band from Karawang, capital city of West Java. The band consists of vocalist Sonny Adi Putra, guitarists Agithya Asa Gilang and Aditya Firmansyah, bassist Fiqhi Ilman Nafi, drummer Ashary Firstyan. Founded in 2008 by Agithya Asa Gilang (also known as Agityasa) who is also a composer of the band.
History
2008–2009 : Formation
Cry In December was founded in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia in 2008 by vocalist Sonny Adi Putra and guitarist Agithya Asa Gilang (Agityasa). Sonny invited Fiqhi as bassist to join the band, then Agityasa invited Aditya as guitarist and Ashary as drummer. Cry In December formed on the basis of friendship since they were children. The name philosophy of Cry In December is influenced by the fact they were born in December. They began performing on stage with music like The Devil Wears Prada.
2010: Vacuum
In 2010, each member's busyness hampered their progress. They chose to take a break.
2011: Reborn
After the break from shows, Agityasa as guitarist went to Bandung to continue his studies. Bored by his busyness, Agityasa created a song and called Ashary Firstyan to continue filling the beats. After the song was complete, he called all members to hear his sample. Finally Cry In December made a deal to continue the band. The first single created is Funeral For Dear Slut, they shared the song for free. Not satisfied with only one song, they made a new song titled Let's Break The Diamond, released by the band itself. They came back to the stage with their songs.
2012–2013 : New Single, New Concepts
In 2012 Cry In December joined with independent heavy music label Lunatic Records based in Bandung, Indonesia. They released a new single titled UNVISION in December 2012. Since releasing their single, they attracted much attention from modern metal listeners. They participated in Hellprint United Day III at Bandung, Indonesia in September 2012. However, bassist Fiqhi Ilman Nafi decided to leave the band due to work commitments. They used an additional bassist for shows.
2014–Present : Creating The First Debut Album
In 2014 Cry In December created their debut album titled The Reason Why We Believe,[1] Their full-length debut album was released by Lunatic Records.
