Cry In December is an Indonesian Metalcore band from Karawang, capital city of West Java. The band consists of vocalist Sonny Ady Putra, guitarists Agithya Asa Gilang and Aditya Firmansyah, bassist Fiqhi Ilman Nafi, drummer Ashary Firstyan. Founded in 2008 by Agithya Asa Gilang ( also known as Agityasa ) who is also a composer of the band.
History[edit]
2008–2009 : Formation[edit]
Cry In December was founded in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia in 2008 by vocalist Sonny Adi Putra and guitarist Agithya Asa Gilang (Agityasa). Sony invited Fiqhi as bassist to join the band, then Agityasa invite Aditya as guitarist and Ashary as drummer. Cry In December formed on the basis of friendship since they were children. The name philosophy of Cry In December influenced by the life as they were born in December. They began performing on the stage with the taste music like The Devil Wears Prada.
2010: Vacuum[edit]
In 2010, each member's busyness makes their progress hampered. They choose to take a break
2011: Reborn[edit]
After the break from shows, Agityasa as guitarist come to Bandung to continue his study. Bored by his busyness, Agityasa create a song and call Ashary Firstyan to continue fill the beats. After full song is done, He calls all members to hear his sample. Finally Cry In December make a deal for continuing the band. The first single created is Funeral For Dear Slut, they share the song for free. Not satisfied with only 1 song, they make a new song titled Let's Broke The Diamond, released by the band itself. They come back to the stage with their songs.
2012–2013 : New Single, New Concepts[edit]
In 2012 Cry In December join with independent heavy music label Lunatic Records based in Bandung, Indonesia. They release a new single titled UNVISION in December 2012. Since releasing their single, they are attracted much attention from the modern metal listener. They participated in Hellprint United Day III at Bandung, Indonesia in September 2012. However, bassist Fiqhi Ilman Nafi decided to leave the band due to work commitments. They use an additional bassist for shows.
2014–Present : Creating The First Debut Album[edit]
In 2014 Cry In December create their debut album titled The Reason Why We Believe,[1] Their full-length debut album will be released by Lunatic Records.
