Crysbro Chicken is a Sri Lankan Business entity founded 45 years ago by Mr Mohamed Imthiyaz. Company is since engaged in producing Chicken for local consumption.

The broiler chicken production farm situated at Galgamuwa in the Wayamba Province spans over hundreds of acres. The natural environmental conditions required by chicks are provided through sensors using modern technology where the temperature, light and cold is controlled. The food and water required for the poultry is provided automatically.

Breeding Chicken

CRYSBRO imports Grant Parent chicks from United States of America which is essential for the production of fresh chicken for consumers. Grown up hens are then sent to the Midland Breeders company farm situated in Dolosbage.

The grown up hens from Fortune GP (Pvt) Ltd is brought to Midland Breeders (Pvt) Ltd situated in Dolosbage to produce eggs .These eggs are then sent to a modern hatching farm belonging to Midland Breeders in Navalapitiya for the hatching process. Here the one day old egg is being hatched at the modern hatching centre for 21 days in ideal environmental conditions to produce top class broiler chicks.

Chicken Feed

Commenced as a state of the art Rs 1.6 billion joint venture feed milling project in Wariyapola Kurunagala, the food mill is the most tech savvy modern and largest in Sri Lanka. The mill consists of a huge granary in which the raw material required for animal food could be easily stored.

CRYSBRO in a bid to produces its own nutritious grain for its farm house set up Golden Grains (Pvt) Ltd. Thousands of acres of land in Dehiaththakandiya, Kantale, Giradurukotte has been made productive farm lands to cultivate rice and maize and a massive endeavour is made to upscale income of farmers and develop the local agri industry. The hugeness of this farm reminiscences the beauty of modern farms seen in foreign countries.

Processing and Packing

processing and packing is done by Farms Pride (Pvt) Ltd. A team of specially trained, skilled staff have been deployed at this factory. The packing is done by following an international methodology of biological and hygienic protection, to prevent any room for micro organisms and infectious germs to enter the product. In order to maintain and sustain freshness, production is carried out using automatic modern machinery and CYSBRO pioneered in introducing Cryovac packing for packing chicken and introducing it to the market in Sri Lanka. Farms Pride (Pvt) Ltd main management office is situated in the Gampola Jayamalapura area.,

CRYSBO carries out its production according to the traditional Halal Certification and the only poultry production company that owns the ISO 14001 quality certification. It also has obtained the British Consortium Certificate (BRC), ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and the HACCP Certification.,

Employee Welfare

CRYSBRO has launched many recognition schemes for its efficient and dedicated staff to improve their welfare and training activities. CRYSBRO has also intervened to provide houses and financial assistance to renovate houses of its staff that suffer from financial difficulties and uplift their living standards.

CSR Activities

CRYSBRO carries out its corporate social activities (CSR) in manifold ways. Under the CRYSBRO Diri Saviya program there are over 250 farm assistants who the bulk are women. Under the supervision and guidance of CRYSBRO these men and women on contract basis, raise broiler chicks provided by CRYSBRO and return the grown up broilers to the company. This program has turned out to be a tower of strength which empowers the household economy in the country. Furthermore, under the Diri Saviya program small farmer families spread out throughout the island under contract basis get the opportunity to earn a extra buck by cultivating different crops like rice and maize and providing it to CRYSBRO. To further motive the chicken farm assistants and farmers, under Diri Saviya, a contest is held to select the best farmer and the best farm assistant. The winners are recognized with awards and payments.

Under the Sisu Diriya CSR School books are provided to children of low income families who face financial difficulties. Accordingly thousands of books are awarded annually. In addition under the ‘Suwashakthi’ program the renovation of maternity words and hospital wards are being carried out to up healed the health of people leaving in the vicinity of CRYSBRO farms and factories. To recognized children with natural sport talent the ‘Next Champ’ program has also been introduced by CRYSBRO.

Crysbro also proceeds to Recycle water of its factories, tree planting in factory premises, and with the collaboration of the Lions Club participating in large tree planting campaigns is also being carried out under the ‘Haritha Sathkaraya’ CSR program.
