Crystal Dianne Davis (born January 30, 1993) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Anna, Illinois, who was crowned Miss Illinois 2015. She competed for the Miss America 2016 title in September 2015.

Pageant career[edit]

Early titles[edit]

Before entering the Miss America system of pageants, Davis was crowned Cobden Peach Festival Queen on August 6, 2011.[1] On August 21, she won the title Miss Union County Fair.[2][3][4] In January 2012, she vied for the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen title and placed as a top-15 finalist.[5][6]

Vying for Miss Illinois[edit]

On September 16, 2012, Davis won the Miss Marion Main Street 2013 title then competed as one of 32 entrants in the 2013 Miss Illinois pageant.[7][8][9] She was not a top-11 finalist.[10] On November 9, 2013, Davis won the Miss Southern Sweetheart 2014 title then competed in the 2014 Miss Illinois pageant.[11][12][13][14] She was named was a top-ten finalist and the People's Choice winner.[15]

Miss Illinois 2015[edit]

On August 9, 2014, Davis was crowned Miss Southern Illinois 2015.[16] This win made her eligible to compete in the 2015 Miss Illinois pageant at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center for her third attempt at the statewide title.[16][17][18] Entering the state pageant in June 2015 as one of 31 finalists, Davis's preliminary competition talent was singing "That's Life", a song first made famous by Frank Sinatra.[18] Her platform is "Crystal Clear Driving: Eyes On the Road Ahead".[17]

Davis won the competition on Saturday, June 13, 2015, when she received her crown from outgoing Miss Illinois titleholder Marisa Buchheit.[18] She earned more than $14,000 in scholarship money from the state pageant.[18] As Miss Illinois, her activities include public appearances and charity work across the state.[19]

Vying for Miss America 2016[edit]

Davis was Illinois's representative at the Miss America 2016 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September 2015.[19][20] In the televised finale on September 13, 2015, she placed outside the Top 15 semi-finalists and was eliminated from competition. She was awarded a $3,000 scholarship prize as her state's representative.[21][22]

Early life and education[edit]

Davis is a native of Anna, Illinois, and a graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School.[1][4] Her father is W.L. Davis and her mother is Debra Davis.[1][6] Davis attended Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois.[1][23]
