CultWine was founded in 2005 by Leo E. Fenn III and is headquartered in Newport Coast, CA. The company is owned by its parent entity Fenn & Associates, LLC, established in 2003, which is one of the largest vintage and rare wine international wine wholesalers in the world. The company started it operations in Southern California and quickly expanded across North America by 2006. After, opening international offices and warehouse, the company expanded in operations worldwide and began importing & exporting wines all over the world.

CultWine and Fenn & Associates, LLC are privately held companies operated by Leo E. Fenn III and owned by the Fenn Family Trust. The CultWine website is generally referred to as the "Bible" of the CultWine world.
