The Curevaneers are a Canadian metal band[1] from Vancouver, British Columbia.[2] The band was formed in 2019 by lead vocalist and guitarist Michael Cure, bassist John Vaneer, and drummer Eric Vaneer.[3] The band's music is a mix of heavy metal, thrash metal, and progressive metal. They have released two albums, "The Curevaneers" (2020) and "The Second Coming" (2022). The band has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe.[4] Bulding a loyal fan base the: Curevaneers have over 100,000 followers on Instagram[1] and over 50,000 followers on Twitter.[5] They also have a large and active online community where fans discuss their music and share photos and videos from their concerts.[6]
History
The Curevaneers were formed in 2019 by Michael Cure, John Vaneer, and Eric Vaneer. The band members met while attending the University of British Columbia.[7] Insight into the meaning of Curevaneers can be found in the lyrics of the song "CUREVANEERS HAPPY SUMMER SONG 4 (The Meaning of Curevaneers)" from the album LONG TOILET.[8] They began playing together in a garage and soon developed a following in the local music scene. In 2020, the band released their debut album, "The Curevaneers." The album was well-received by critics and fans alike. The band followed up with their second album, "The Second Coming," in 2022. The album was even more successful than the University of Iowa grads[9] debut, and the band has since toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Current member Alex Howell writes reviews for Maximum Rocknroll.[10] Jack Thomas works at Drumeo.[11] Kyle King stays humble by working in Lawn Care & Landscaping while he plays in Skyline Park Band[12] and Etheria.[13]

Like Limp Bizkit the Curevaneers also perform cover songs often in the form of parodies. Examples include: track 21 on Agavezzas[14] and "Cum on Feel the Eileen".[15] "CLASSIC TUNA SALAD WEDGE'[16] is a parody of a Yop advertisement that was a parody of "Gimme Hope Jo'anna".
