The Custody Review Board (CRB; French: Commission de révision des placements sous garde) is an independent, quasi-judicial agency in Ontario, Canada. It is one of 13 adjudicative tribunals under the Ministry of the Attorney General that make up Tribunals Ontario.[1]
The CRB conducts hearings for individuals under the age of 18 who are either in custody or detention.[2][3]
Authority
The role and authority of the CRB is mandated under the Children and Family Services Act[4] and the Youth Criminal Justice Act[5]. The CRB can review decisions and make recommendations on custody changes, temporary release, and youth justice placement.[6][7][8][9]
