Adekeye Esther Tosin professionally known as Cutekimani is a Nigerian media entrepreneur with interests in television, radio and digital media. Kimani was the Head of Media and PR at Afro Music Pop Television, she is the CEO of Estol Props Media and the founder of popular Nigerian Tweet-chat, KimaniOffAir.[1]

Early life

Cutekimani is from Oyo state in southwest Nigeria. She had her primary education at the University of Lagos Staff School before proceeding to the Methodist Girls’ High School in Lagos. In 2009, she acquired a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos.[2]

Career

Cutekimani began her radio career in 2005, while she was an undergraduate at the University of Lagos, as one of the presenters at the newly established Unilag Fm. She went on to have successful stints with Nigerian cable music channel Nigezie[3] and pop radio station Cool Fm in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Kimani returned to Lagos in 2011 where she continued her radio career with Unilag Fm.

As a radio host, Cutekimani has interviewed a number of Nigerian celebrities on her Saturday Request Show including Dbanj,[4] Tiwa Savage, Davido, 9ice and DJ Cuppy. She has also done freelance contracts with Zoodrums, Reel Radio[3] and Rhythm Fm Lagos. In 2015 she became the Head of Media and PR at Afro Music Pop Television, a cable music channel on the DSTV platform.

As a media personality she is an event host, Blogger, and Digital Media Strategist.[5] In 2015, she partnered with Kenya Airways as a travel blogger to chronicle a six-day tour of the tourist sites in Kenya.[6]

Estol Props Media

In 2011, Cutekimani established Estol Props Media, a media service and Brand Promotion company to help brands, publishers, agencies and individuals to navigate and succeed in the rapidly evolving media industry while also giving them optimum exposure in the digital space and return-on-investment.[5] Some of the clients that she has worked with as the CEO of Estol Props Media include MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Kenya Airways, Premier BET, Bank of Industry - Nigeria, Smirnoff Ice, Intel Nigeria, Slot Mobile, MNET, Tecno, Close Up and others.[7]

#KimaniOffAir

Cutekimani is also the founder of the Tweetchat tagged #KimaniOffAir, an initiative created to motivate, entertain, educate and interact with iconic individuals, such as rapper Olamide, Singers Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, Yemi Alade, Don Jazzy, entertainment CEO Audu Maikori, soccer player Jude Ighalo, Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo, Mr. Eazi, Uhuru from South Africa, Big Brother Naija winner Efe Ejeba and many more who have made their mark in their respective field with the motive of bettering and inspiring African youths.[8]

The twitter interview format has since inception had over 50 top rated acts from all over Africa on the platform and has also partnered with brands like MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Tecno, Payporte, Martini and more recently Jumia Travels to engage and connect with their users.

Awards and recognition

In honor of her achievements as a digital media strategist and social media influencer, she was nominated for the 2015 Scream Award for Best Use of Social Media,[9] she was also nominated for the Tush Awards in the Social Media Influencer category alongside Osagie Alonge of pulse.ng.[10]

In 2014, Cutekimani was nominated for the On-Air Personality of the Year award at the MoreKlue All Youths Awards, alongside Toolz of Beat 99.9fm,[11] while in 2012, she was nominated for the Dynamix All Youths Awards for Best Radio Personality.[12]
