Cycle Baba
RAJ PHANDEN aka Cycle baba He is a medical doctor since 2005. Dr Raj and his late wife Dr. Kavita have tried their best to deliver good services from Aastha Hospital in Bhuna, Haryana, India. But his life turned when he lost his beloved wife in a road accident. He also lost his beloved mother and father to illness. With this, he lost hope in life, but as he learnt that there was much worse happening in the world, he decided to live for those in need.
The environment that we live in is degrading by the day. Road traffic accidents are one of the spiraling problems of environmental degradation, to which he lost his wife. As he realized this, he decided to save thousands of others who were prone to losing their lives like his wife. Cycling came as a hope for saving lives across the world.
So he is therefore travelling the world on Bicycle, “Wheels for Green,” raising awareness to save the environment and create a green earth since 2016 from Bhuna, Haryana, India. Also, he is spreading awareness of our ancient practice and treatment of Ayurveda.
He started paddling from Bhuna on 5 September 2016. India is a country that suffers the problems of deforestation, resulting in destructive floods each year. Climate change has changed the vegetation pattern, and road traffic accidents causing death, injury and disability are on the increase every year. Hence, motivated to challenge these unwarranted hazards, he decided to take up this campaign.
Until today, he has completed 50000 km in India, Bhutan, Nepal, Laos, Brunei, England, Europe, Armenia, Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Georgia, Iran, Taiwan, U.A.E, Japan, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Thailand, Oman, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cambodia and the Philippines with 900 seminars and 70000 saplings planted with the support of friends, relatives, cycling clubs and Lions Club members and NRI.
