Dánya Polykóv (born March 15, 1967) is Russian and American poet who may be known for his 2003 double-sided book "The Parallax World"..[1]. Full name Daniél' Gilélevich Polykóv; IPA: [dæniˈɛlɛ gilˈɛlɛvich ˈpɔlikouv]; Russian: Даниель Гилельевич Поляков; old variants of surname spelling -- Polyakov, Poliakov.

Besides that — Daniel' was in two films, uncredited. In 2014 indie movie Sex, marriage and infidelity he drove the limo, but main footage from inside the car was cut out, only leaving him driving the Mercedes-Benz S550 in the background to end credits[2]

Danya Polykov was born on Vasilyevsky Island in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg), Russia, into family of awarded documental films scriptwriter / journalist / national radio broadcaster and commentator Leonid Poljakow[3]. His mother Evgeniya's grandfather in the late 1800s moved from Lithuania to then Capitol of Russia — Saint Petersburg. Daniel Polykov considers himself Jewish by father and an atheist[4] While Danya grew up, he was spending lots of time on the fringes of media industry culture of Saint Petersburg and Moscow.[5]. After visiting his sister in New-York in the summer/fall of 1991, he chose to immigrate. He fully settled in New York City in 1993[5]

The Parallax World[edit]

To date Daniel' Polykov composed many poems, 151 of which in 2002 were included in "The Parallax World"[1][5]. Word "parallax" was taken from astronomy, which Danya studied in the maritime institute. Book was published by Publishing-House-Gelany in limited edition.
