David Samuel Hudson (D. S. Hudson) is a Maltese author and journalist born in Malta on the 28th of May, 1990. He is the first Maltese author to be longlisted and to be a finalist in an international prize for fiction. He was longlisted for the Bath Flash Fiction Award. His flash, 'A Real Boy' was subsequently published in an anthology entitled The Lobsters Run Free. He was also a finalist for the Arizona State University's Everything Change, Climate Fiction Contest. His story, Luna, was published in the 2019 anthology. He has published numerous short stories in various magazines including the UK magazine Scribble, winner of the 2008 Writers's Grand Circle Award. David is the recipient of a Bachelor of Arts with honours in English from the University of Malta where his dissertation Venturesome Solitude, Solitude Ventured was published, as well as a Masters in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University for which he obtained a distinction. He was published in the university's annual anthology entitled Threads. His first novel manuscript has been shortlisted for the Janklow and Nesbit prize. He is currently working on his debut.
