Daniele Mario Areddu is an Italian software developer and technology speaker. He founded Velletri.dev, a community that brings together students, teachers and developers in the Velletri area.[1] His talks have addressed applications of artificial intelligence, including retrieval-augmented generation and the adaptation of language models to specialized tasks.[2][1]
Education and work
In December 2024, Castelli Notizie described Areddu as a final-year student at the ITIS "G. Vallauri" in Velletri.[2] He subsequently studied computer science at the University of Calabria. An August 2025 report by Cosenza Channel discussed his move from Sardinia to Rende for university and his planned participation in the TechCon 365 conference in Dallas.[3]
Speaking and community activities
At DevFest Gela in December 2024, Areddu gave a talk about AI and RAG in search engines.[2][4] At DevFest Vicenza in June 2025, he presented on language-model fine-tuning, including an example involving legal language. The same report described Velletri.dev as a media partner of the event.[1] The official TechCon 365 Dallas agenda listed a November 2025 session by Areddu about Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Copilot.[5]

Early life and education
Areddu was born on 30 October 2006 in Sassari, Sardinia.[citation needed] He later lived in Velletri, where he attended the ITIS "G. Vallauri" and was in his final year in 2024.[1] He subsequently studied computer science at the University of Calabria.[2]
Career and community work
His work encompasses AI applications and backend services. His speaker profile describes development with Python, Flask, Node.js and REST APIs, alongside PySpark, Microsoft Fabric and the Microsoft Power Platform.[3] An organizer's biography for a July 2026 meetup in Almaty identified him as a Backend and AI Developer at Global Technologies Italia.[4]
He established Velletri.dev as a meeting point for students, teachers and developers interested in technology in and around Velletri. In 2025 the community was a media partner of DevFest Vicenza, where Areddu spoke about adapting language models to specialized tasks, including legal language.[5] The community also promoted a local meetup about the social and educational implications of AI.[6]
Public speaking
Areddu began appearing on developer-conference programmes while still at school. At DevFest Gela in December 2024, he spoke about applying AI and RAG to search engines.[1][7] The following January, the Global Game Jam Catania programme listed his presentation about AI-driven non-player characters in Minecraft.[8]
His 2025 sessions addressed different ways to integrate AI into working software. At Agile O'Day in Naples, he presented on cloud, edge computing and AI in business systems.[9] In Tirana that July, he discussed generative AI in Power Platform applications; the event organizer's retrospective documented his participation.[10] A DevFest Modena session examined fine-tuning GPT modsls on Italian legal material alongside RAG and the limitations of AI in legal applications. Its programme said a version had previously been given at DevFest Pisa.[11]
His speaking activity also extended beyond Italy. News reports announced three sessions for TechCon 365 in Dallas in November 2025, concerning workflow automation, AI applications and dashboards.[2][12] His speaker profile also lists 2025 events in Bucharest, Madrid, Ponferrada and Turin.[3]
In 2026, Areddu continued to present on language models and automation. Python Bari listed a March talk on AI Agents for legal-language applications, while the AI Community Conference in New York City listed a June presentation on Power Automate, Azure OpenAI and Microsoft Teams.[13][14]
During July 2026, events in Bishkek and Almaty advertised talks by Areddu about autonomous AI agents, Google Gemini, the Agent Development Kit and on-device processing.[15][4] The Google Developer Group in Chișinău listed him among the speakers at its September 2026 AI meetup.[16] His speaker profile also lists an appearance at the 26 September 2026 Day of Data Toronto event, which took place at Microsoft Toronto HQ.[3][17]
As of September 2026, the organizers of Data Saturday Sofia had scheduled an October session by Areddu on data reconciliation in Microsoft Fabric.[18]
Publications
Alongside his technical work, Areddu has published books on programming and local history. His Programmare con Java was independently published in 2023 (ISBN 9798863305325).[19] Pizzo: Ieri, Oggi e Domani: Un viaggio tra storia, identità e futuro (2025) concerns the history and identity of Pizzo, Calabria.[12][20] Online bookseller listings also credit him with Binari sul Mare and Viaggio in Moldavia.[21][22]
