DIVE Studios (officially Westlake-based Creators Collective Inc.[1]) is a podcast network hosting numerous shows centered around k-pop and Korean popular culture but which are primarily aimed at international fans.[2][3]

History[edit]

DIVE Studios, founded by Eric Nam and his brothers in August 2019, specialises in producing podcasts for international K-pop fans and Asian Americans.[4] In 2020 the network partnered with Acast.[5] As of February 2021, DIVE Studios have noted they have 720,000 Spotify subscribers and 1.7 million followers across various social media platforms.[6]

In 2021, the podcast outlet was able to branch out into creating apps through securing 8.7 million USD in funding from TQ Ventures, Union Square Ventures, and co-founders of Twitch and Opendoor.[7][1][8][9]

K-Pop Daebak[edit]

K-Pop Daebak is a podcast show created by Eric Nam focusing on recent k-pop music releases.[15] It was the first show released by the network.[16] Guests have included Jay B and Armaan Malik[17][18][19]

GET REAL[edit]

Guests of the show have included Jackson Wang and pH-1.[20][21][22]. Host BM was replaced by JUNNY[23].

Other ventures[edit]

Besides podcasts, the network has released the gameshow HWAITING (화이팅) in collaboration with Facebook Watch.[27][28] They have also released the mental health subscription app Mindset.[29][10][30][31][7] Mindset includes guest appearances from Tablo, Jae Park, Woosung, Aminé, Jxdn, and Maggie Lindemann.[1][8][32][33]

Accolades and awards[edit]

Three of the network's podcasts, K-pop Daebak, How did I get here?, and Commit or Quit, won the 2020 Podcast Awards, giving the network winning shows in the categories: music, entertainment, people's choice, and TV and film.[34]
