Barry Joseph Sacks, Jr., also known by the stage name DJ IcyFunk (born 10 July 1994), is a Maryland-born American House DJ, socialite and performance artist in poi spinning, hula hoop and rope dart. He is currently based out of Washington, D.C. and deeply influenced by Disco House, Rave, LGBTQ and Drag subcultures within U.S. nightclub scenes.
Barry J. Sacks graduated from Laurel High School in 2012. During his young adult years, he was an active member in the Baltimore rave and dance scene that were heavily influenced by New York City party promoters and cultural celebrities to include DJ Scotto, Michael Alig, and James St. James. Sacks currently holds a baccalaureate degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Sacks, under the pseudonym DJ IcyFunk, plays with a primary expertise in Disco House, but has also been known to perform within a variety of genres to include; dance, house, gabber, and pop where he currently plays as a resident DJ at The DC Eagle. Through his quick rise and increased visibility in the club scenes, he has been known to DJ in highly publicized events to include the 47th anniversary of the DC Eagle and has performed for numerous RuPaul's Drag Race contestants; most notably for the dragstars Willam. and Delta Work
