Steve Armendariz (born July 12, 1987). better known for his stage name DJ Lil Steve, is an American DJ, Engineer. He is mostly known for being legendary OG Ron C's protege. He is part of The Chopstars which holds a strong slogan called Chopped Not Slopped for the screwed and chopped genre. He is an on-air personality for KQBT 93.7 The Beat Houston. He has done numerous amounts of mixtapes which have helped break a lot of artist in the rap game. He has won 2 "SEA AWARDS" back to back from 2005-2006 which was "Rookie DJ Of The Year" and "Best Duo On A Mixtape". He has also been written up in the most popular weekly newsletter for Houston,TX "The Houston Press" In 2012 for one of his mixtapes entitled "10Tapes-N-10Nights". Which is a 10 tape series made in 10 days "1 tape a day" of nothing but the greatest hits of 10 bands from genres consisting rock, alternative, heavy metal, metal, punk rock chopped not slopped.

DJ Lil Steve born and raised out of the northside of Houston,TX started DJing at a very early age of 13 years old. In 2000 when he started djing he started off djing house/birthday parties for his classmates. While during his journey of djing parties he always use to go to the music stores at the malls to purchase new music and records. He eventually picked up a few mixtapes that the store was selling at it ended up being a OG RON C mixtape. He was amazed and wanted to do the same thing he heard. He ended up selling all his party equipment and bought a new set of decks and studied OG RON C for many years. Eventually he meet up with OG RON C numerous of times but was never ready to say he wanted to be apart of his venture. After time went by he was 17 years old and submitted his first mixtape he got pressed up with posters to OG RON C at a artist cd listening party and set back patiently to finally hear OG RON C was amazed at the skills he had a young age. Later on by the age of 18 he became OG RON C protege and won his first award at the "SEA AWARDS" for "Rookie DJ Of The Year". The rest was magic!
ChopNotSlop Radio[edit]
ChopNotSlop Radio is an online radio station that focuses in the Chopped and Screwed music genre. It is the first 24 hours chopped and screwed radio station to this date. It was created in 2008 by The Chopstars with the intent of trying to help keep the subgenre that DJ Screw had created. The station is played live on a internet stream via chopnotslop website or itunes at 192kps mp3 format with live-on-air turntablism where they chop and screw music.
