Hans Machiels, better known as DJ Murdock, is a Belgian DJ, label owner, and event organizer.
Lifespan
He is active as a DJ on Studio Brussel where he weekly plays dubstep and drum 'n' bass records in his program Jungle Fever. He was almost annually active at Dour and Pukkelpop and was also the only artist to perform twice at Laundry Day in 2012. In 2015 he won the DnB Awards for best music video of his song "love to me."
He is also the organizer of the largest drum 'n' bass and dubstep event in the world, Rampage. In 2019, the first edition of the two-day festival "Rampage open-air" took place. On September 7, 2018, he was one of dozens of artists from all over the world who signed an open letter in the English newspaper The Guardian addressed to the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Israel in 2019, the winner of 2018. The letter urges that the song contest be held in another country where human rights are better respected: As long as the Palestinians do not enjoy freedom, justice and equal rights, there can be no "business as usual" with a state that denies them their basic rights.
