Donald Joseph "DJ" Sennett[2] (born May 11, 1992) is an American YouTube personality, musician and prankster best known for his screen name Public Prank and Songs By DJ where he has videos featuring hidden-cameras of pranks and cover songs. As of September 2016, his main channel has over 72 million views.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Sennett has lost his father in 2015.[10]

Sennett has collaborated with other notable YouTubers such as Dawson Gurley,[11] Justin Stuart and Andrew Scites from JStuStudios,[11] Cody Strong,[11] Garrett Garcia,[12] and Jack Vale.[13]

"Waiters for the Homeless"[edit]

Sennett filmed a video where he becomes a waiter and serves free food for the homeless of Los Angeles, this video was released on March 18, 2014 and went viral.[14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21]

Hidden Speaker Prank[edit]

Sennett teamed up with JStuStudios and filmed a prank in chain stores where they hide a bluetooth speaker in a shopping cart and played recorded voices while people are passing by, with sentences such as "I'm stuck in here." The video was released on April 22, 2014. A new video with the same prank idea was released in 2016 with more phrases such as "Can you see me?".[3][22][23]

Musical career[edit]

Although Sennett posts cover songs on his channel Songs by DJ, but on May 22, 2013 Sennett released his first single titled "Young and Free" which was wrote and composed by himself and was released in the format of digital download on iTunes.[24]
