DTF Games uses the Enigma engine, which was licensed from Nival Interactive, for most of its games. The company also publishes games from other developers, such as Men of War and Faces of War from Best Way. DTF Games has received positive reviews from critics and players for its realistic and immersive games, as well as its attention to historical accuracy and detail.²³
History[edit]
DTF Games was founded in 2003 by Alexander Fedorov, who had previously worked as a programmer at Nival Interactive, a leading Russian video game developer. Fedorov wanted to create his own games that focused on historical and military themes, and he recruited a team of talented and passionate developers to join him. The company's first game was Stalingrad, a real-time tactics game that covered the major events of the Battle of Stalingrad from June 1942 to January 1943. The game was built upon the Enigma Engine, which was used in Nival's Blitzkrieg game and was licensed to DTF Games. Stalingrad was released in 2005 and received positive feedback from critics and players, who praised its realism, graphics and sound, as well as its historical accuracy and attention to detail.²³
Following the success of Stalingrad, DTF Games continued to develop and publish historical and military-themed games, such as The Stalin Subway series, a first-person shooter game that depicted the secret and mysterious aspects of the Moscow Metro during the Cold War. The series consisted of three games: The Stalin Subway (2005), The Stalin Subway: Red Veil (2006) and The Stalin Subway: The Third Path (2007). The games featured authentic locations, weapons and vehicles, as well as a gripping story and intense action. The games were well-received by fans of the genre, but also faced some criticism for their technical issues and bugs.
In addition to developing its own games, DTF Games also acted as a publisher for other developers, such as Best Way, a Ukrainian video game developer that specialized in real-time tactics games. DTF Games published Best Way's Men of War and Faces of War games, which were set in various theatres of World War II and featured realistic physics, destructible environments and dynamic weather. The games were highly acclaimed by critics and players, who lauded their gameplay, graphics and realism.
