Daan van der Linden

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Daan van der Linden is a dutch professional skateboarder. He was European Skater of the Year in 2016 and 2017.

Early Life[edit]

Born in Eindhoven, Daan and his older brother Job learned basic skateboarding in their front yard. A baby-sitter of theirs saw promise and began taking them to a nearby super-park, Area 51.[1].

Skate Prodigy[edit]

By age 12, Daan was skating on par with the top skaters from Eindhoven. More importantly, his ability to skate casually without sacrificing difficulty was clear. This can be seen in his early video parts (park and street) where tricks and obstacles are seldom hit twice, yet the bar remains high [2] [3]. The next few years Daan progressed even faster; his clips from this time are respectable to this day, as in could pass in a common professional video [4] [5] [6] [7]. The next few years saw numerous contest wins, a four minute street part (with mostly old footage) and European notoriety [8] [9] [10]

Road to Pro[edit]

In 2014 (17 years old), Daan got on Vans with a notable street part filmed around Athens. The following year he got hooked up with Volcom and a few Deluxe companies, Indy, Spitfire and Anti-hero. He never stopped putting out footage or winning contests, so in 2016 he won the title of European Skater of the Year[11]. In 2017, because Daan dropped parts in Holy Stokes and the BOMBAKLATZ, plus eight minutes of bru-ray footage, he won E-SOTY again and went pro for Anti-hero [12]
