Daffodil Software is a global software engineering company with headquarters in Gurugram, India. It was founded in 1999 in Hisar, a suburban district in Haryana. The company's services include software engineering, software consultation and digital transformation.

The company also has its branch offices in Grandville, USA and Dubai, UAE.

History

Daffodil Software was founded in the year 1999 by Yogesh Agarwal along with a team of 10 members. In 2000, the company launched its first product named Sapling, which was a timetable scheduling software for schools and educational institutes. In 2004, the company launched a JAVA based RDBMS which was the first RDBMS in India to be certified by Sun Microsystems.[1][2]. In the same year, the company opened a new development center in Gurugram. In 2006, Daffodil diversified into custom software engineering services and began serving global clientele.

Growth

Since its inception, the company has organically invested in expanding its capabilities, workforce, as well as organizational processes. The company achieved a major breakthrough in 2013, when it was recognized as one of the fastest growing technology companies in India by Deloitte[3]. In 2015, the company also won the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for being one of the 500 fastest growing companies in the APAC region. In 2019, the company was selected by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to develop an AI-enabled application for visually impaired people to recognize Indian currency denominations [4] [5]. In 2020, the company was recognized as a Great Place to Work [6]. By December 2020, Daffodil software clocked a growth rate of 45% and announced hiring of 500 developers on a remote working model.[7]
