Dagu Valley (Chinese: 达古峡谷; Tibetan: སྟག་ཀུ་རི་ཐང་), located in Sangri County, Shannan, Tibet, China, is a high-altitude valley within the eastern Tibetan Plateau. Spanning approximately 30 kilometers, it ranges from 2,000 to 4,200 meters above sea level, featuring dramatic cliffs, glacial meltwater streams, and dense forests.[1]

Geography

The valley is ecologically significant for its vertical biodiversity: lower slopes host mixed coniferous forests dominated by fir and spruce, while alpine meadows above 3,500 meters bloom with rare flora like Rhododendron phaeochrysum and Saussurea medusa during summer. It serves as a critical habitat for endangered species such as the snow leopard (Panthera uncia) and Chinese goral (Naemorhedus griseus).[2][3]
