Daishin Securities Co., Ltd. (Korean: 대신증권) is a major South Korean financial services company headquartered in Seoul. Founded in 1962, it is one of the oldest and most prominent domestic brokerage firms in South Korea and serves as the flagship company of the Daishin Financial Group.
History
The company was established in July 1962 as Samrak Securities. In 1975, it was acquired by the late Honorary Chairman Yang Jae-bong, a pioneer of the Korean capital market and an alumnus of Chonnam National University, and renamed Daishin Securities.
Daishin has been a leader in financial technology in South Korea: 1976: Became the first securities company in Korea to go public on the Korea Stock Exchange. 1980: Established the first computerized trading system in the domestic industry. 1997: Launched "CYBOS," one of the most successful early home trading systems (HTS) in Korea. 2024–2025: Successfully pursued designation as a "Comprehensive Financial Investment Provider" (종합금융투자사업자), expanding its capital base and investment banking capabilities.
