Damed Bahadur oglu Imanov (Azerbaijani: Daməd Bahadur oğlu İmanov; born 15 April 1959) is an Azerbaijani Captain at sea, is the former chief of the Oil Fleet Department of the Absheron region of SOCAR[1]

Early life and career

Imanov was born in the village of Horadiz, Fuzuli Rayon in 15 April 1959.

After completing his military service, Imanov in 1979 became apprentice with a seaman.

In 1996, he was the chief of Deep-sea route Department. Imanov worked as the deputy manager of Fleet Department of Kasmorneft. Further he held the positions of the deputy chief for operation, department manager, and deputy chief of the traffic safety department. In 1999 he worked as captain. To improve his education he acquired the profession of economist in 1994.[2]

He started his education at the Marine Academy. He attained the post of the captain at Oil Fleet in 2007. At present he is the head of SOCAR Caspian Sea Oil Fleet Department of Absheron district.

Awards

  • The "Progress Medal" (2019)[3]On 23 June 2017 he was awarded the Progress Medal of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
  • Damed Imanov was awarded more than 20 honourary rewards. In 2010, he was awarded honourary diploma "Inam" upon the order of Trade Union of Media Workers Presidium. For his further achievements he was honoured an international award of Ukraine and Russia – 1 degree order of "Cossack glory". On the 90th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the "Dede Gorgud" International Foundation honoured Damed Imanov with the national reward of "In the name of peace on earth".[4]
  • On 20 October 2018, he was awarded the Medal "For services in the shipping industry" by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[5]
