Lok, who was born in Hong Kong on November 24, 1981, and his mother moved to Canada when he was 14 years old. At the age of 16, her parents split, and her father continued to live in Hong Kong. He subsequently enrolled in a school in Vancouver, Canada, where he was bullied by other students for being an ordinary meek and reserved Asian lad. In addition, he attended and received his degree from Canada's Douglas College in New Westminster.
When her father filed for bankruptcy and she noticed pessimism in her mother's eyes, she was motivated to work and earn money. She then worked odd jobs like delivering newspapers and washing clothes, among others. She failed in 14 of his prior agreements, but she got up and made a huge deal. Afterwards, he made the decision to start his own one-man advertising agency, which enabled him to enjoy success.
