Dan M. Belecz
Dan Michael Belecz (February 1941 – 28 April 1963) was a meteorologist with the South Pole Station winter party of 1962.[1] Mount Belecz in Antarctica is named in his honor.[2]
Biography
Belecz was born in February 1941 to Leona Kunesh and Carl Michael Belecz in Montana, and attended Milwaukie High School.[3][verification needed] He died on April 28, 1963, in Portland, Oregon and was buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery (Portland, Oregon).[4]
