Dan Piepenbring
Dan Piepenbring (* 1986) is an American writer and journalist.
Piepenbring is a consulting editor for the literary magazine The Paris Review and a writer for the website of the magazine The New Yorker.
In early 2016, he met the musician Prince and agreed to assist him in writing his autobiography. After the death of the musician a few months after their first meeting, he continued the project alone. The biography was published under the title The Beautiful Ones in the fall of 2019. A #1 New York Times best-seller, the book was named one of the best of 2019 by The Washington Post and The Guardian. An excerpt of Piepenbring's introduction appeared in The New Yorker.
With Tom O'Neill, he co-wrote "CHAOS: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties" (Little, Brown; June 2019). An excerpt appeared on The Intercept.
