Dan Sandberg

Dan Sandberg (July 18, 1926 – February 2015) was an American film laboratory executive and technology contributor known for his work in motion picture processing and development during the late 20th century. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of TVC Lab/Video, where he played a role in advancing film laboratory technologies, including the development of Chemtone.

Early life and military service

Dan Sandberg was born on July 18, 1926, in the Bronx, New York. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He served overseas and was stationed in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

Career

After returning from military service, Sandberg moved to Long Island, New York, where he lived until the late 1980s. He initially worked for a pool company before transitioning into the film and media industry.

Sandberg later became President and Chief Executive Officer of TVC Lab/Video (also known as TVC Image Technology), a company involved in film processing and post-production services. During his tenure, he contributed to the development of Chemtone, a laboratory technology used in film processing. His work supported the evolution of film production techniques during the latter half of the 20th century.
