Dana Balter is an American professor and politician from the state of New York. She was the Democratic Party nominee in the 2020 elections seeking to represent New York's 24th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives.
Balter is from Stamford, Connecticut.[2] She graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in theatre in 1997.[3] Balter earned her Master of Public Administration from the University of Connecticut in 2003.[4] She earned her Doctor of Philosophy from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and teaches classes at Syracuse.[2][5]
In the 2018 elections, Balter ran for the United States House of Representatives in New York's 24th congressional district.[2] She won the Democratic Party primary election,[6] but lost the general election to Katko. Balter is running again in the 2020 elections.[7] She defeated Francis Conole to win the Democratic nomination.[8]
