Dana Lee (Chinese: 李孔朝) is an American actor and theater director.
Early life
Lee was born in Guangzhou, China and immigrated to the United States at the age of seven. He was raised in Houston, Texas, and is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles.[1][2]
Career
Lee has played over 100 film and television roles and is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Some of his early notable appearances include the 1970s TV series Kung Fu and Rambo: First Blood Part II, where he played Vietnamese soldier Trong Kinh, who leads a group of pirates. He can also be seen in television episodes of Dynasty, as Ken Jeong’s father in Dr. Ken, and in his recurring role on Curb Your Enthusiasm as Mr. Takahashi. He also appeared in features Pineapple Express and as Doc in Birds of Prey.[3]
On the stage, Lee starred with Nancy Kwan in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf at the Singapore Repertory Theatre, and was a member of the original cast of Green Card at the Mark Taper Forum.
As an early member of East West Players, he served in a variety of roles including assistant artistic director, literary manager, actor and production staff.[4]
