Eddy Ruiz Pineda (born February 15, 1990), better known as his stage name Danger but also as Lobo is a Cuban rapper, singer, record producer and songwriter from Havana, Cuba. He is best known for his singles “Madre”, “Chillin’” and “Tempo Lento”. Outside his solo music he is part of DEM Records, a music collective from San Diego.

Career[edit]

He started in 2003 as part of the Cuban Hip-Hop music circle and in early 2007 recorded his first mixtape "Perreando X Naturaleza” being part of Los Konfuerza, a musical group that stood out for its lyrics, rhythms and local followers in the capital of the island.[1]

At the end of 2009 with the recognized DJ of Electronic Music Alen Sarell joined to his independent record label AN Records. Months later he associated with Jhonan Romeu known by his stage name Romeo “La Maravilla” and both form the duo 3Clan. Same year they recorded their first mixtape "El Reinado Home Edition” Danger's second mixtape but this time under the AN Records label launching it with a tendency of dominant genres in Cuba and including several recognized urban artists in the island like Insurrecto, Mayco D’ Alma, D.D. (Yomil Y El Dany), William “El Magnífico” and more. In this way getting to reach repercussion with some singles in compilatory albums on international scale.[2]

In 2011, 3Clan released his first studio album "El Reinado" in partnership with AN Records with an attractive Hip-Hop mixed with Urban rhythms and Pop trends standing out collaborations with several relevant artists in the national musical field. A year later Danger disintegrates the duo and began to raises his solo artist career releasing the mixtapes "Directo de la Bóveda EP” (2012) and "Real Life” (2014) trough his own record label Danger’s Every Moment while he was working on his debut album as a solo artist “Momentos” (2014) feeling stronger his Hip-Hop/Rap roots and collaborating with some island representative voices as first time into Hip-Hop like Haila María Mompié, Gretell Barreiro, I.V. Rock and others well known like Bárbaro “El Urbano” Vargas and Jhamy Deja-Vu.[3]

March 2014 he premiered “Madre” music video on Lucas, the most watched tv music show in television in Cuba reaching out recognition in the whole country and making this song his first national hit.[4]

November 2015, Danger performed at the main stage of Latin Grammys Street Parties along to many other artists and the well known Cuban rapper El B.[5]

In 2016 he associated with Cuban DJ/Producer Raphox and they started to work together in the same Danger’s own record label DEM Records. Since then, they have produced many projects for them and to other artists they have under the same label as collaborative artists like Haka, Manny Swagg, Doble 9.[6]

He has worked as a songwriter for some artists like Alen Sarell, Orland Max, Raphox; last both currently having musical records under his own record label DEM Records. In a first interviews he had in Cuba with a well-known local magazine Danger stated that his biggest music inspirations growing up were Celia Cruz, Los Aldeanos, Michael Jackson and Eminem. Throughout his career, he transmits a versatile and general speech that reaches to embrace subjects that speak of love, sex, desires and conscience.[7]
