Dani Roche is a Canadian entrepreneur, designer and creative director, and the owner of the marketing agency, Kastor & Pollux.[1] She is also the co-founder of School, an education platform.[1]
Early life
Roche grew up in Scarborough, Ontario, adopted by a Jamaican mother and Canadian father.[2]
In 2011, at age 16, Roche started her own vintage e-commerce site called Plastic Skyline, a site she coded and built.[3] This led to the first iteration of her company, Kastor & Pollux, a fashion blog that sold handmade clothing and accessories. The business was run with her friend and business partner Bianca Venerayan.[2]
Roche graduated from York University and Sheridan College's joint design program in 2013.[4] After graduating, her first job was as a managing editor at Fora, MTV Canada's fashion, beauty and lifestyle vertical. [5]
Career
In 2015, Roche and her business partner parted ways, and Roche relaunched the e-commerce site as a contributor-based platform.[6] She rebranded it to a marketing and design agency in 2016.[7]
Roche is the creative director of Biannual, an outerwear brand, and a design professor at Sheridan College.[7][8] She co-founded an education service called School.[1][4]
Achievements
In 2019, Roche was included in the Forbes list of Top 30 Under 30, for her work in marketing and advertising.[4] She has been recognized in Marketing Magazine as a leader in Canadian marketing, as well as Applied Arts magazine as a design industry disruptor. [7] She was named in Toronto Life magazine's annual best-dressed list in 2013.[9]
